Serving the Lord with Gladness—Together!

Gap Campaign

2022-23

2022-23 Gap Campaign

100% participation to reach our $100,000 goal.

Every gift matters!

$730,813

Raised (and counting) since 2015

As we began this school year, our 75th, we chose “Serve the Lord with Gladness” from the 100th Psalm as a theme for the year. Our students and staff have been doing an excellent job of living out the call to serve the Lord with gladness every day. Today, we call on you to join us in that joyful service!

Our students have been going the extra mile to serve with gladness this school year. During the first quarter we dubbed each Thursday, “Thursday Serve Day,” and issued a special challenge to students to serve their community. Our students have also been nominating student “GLADiators” who go above and beyond in serving others at school. This is in addition to our monthly Learn · Love · Act awards where teachers nominate students who exemplify the school motto. Our students serve with gladness all while continuing to maintain a high standard of excellence in the classroom and in extracurricular activities.

Our school staff has admirably served the Lord with gladness as faithful stewards of what has been entrusted to them, most importantly, the students. For the past few years, our country has waited with great anxiety to see how the pandemic would impact our children’s education. Recently “the Nation’s Report Card” revealed that a COVID slide is the reality for many people. However, it also revealed that Catholic Schools weathered the storm of COVID better than any other educational environment. At St. Joseph we accomplished this through daily best practices in education, as well as utilizing federal COVID-relief funds to improve technology and student services throughout our school. This includes 1-to-1 devices for students and new teacher computers (new desktops and laptops in each room). We also increased our staffing for student academic intervention from one teacher and twenty hours per week to two teachers and eighty hours per week. All of this has led to a thriving and growing student body.

Now we call on you to serve the Lord with gladness at St. Joseph! Our successes have led to the largest student body on record at St. Joseph—378 students. This creates both opportunities and challenges. A record enrollment makes our daily resources that much more valuable and adding new materials, books, and equipment is a top priority. Our academic interventionists are currently serving over sixty students who have special academic needs. We are striving to find funding to maintain the current eighty hours per week of intervention when the COVID funds expire this summer. Every gift you give to this year’s Gap Campaign is one more goal we can meet for our students.

Please prayerfully consider what gift will be possible for your family, and ask yourself, “What can I do to help a student thrive?” We believe that every member of the St. Joseph community can make a meaningful contribution to this Gap Campaign whether your gift is $5 or $5,000! When we work together as staff, parents, grandparents, parishioners, and supporters, we can accomplish great things. Thank you for being a part of this exciting moment in history for St. Joseph Catholic School! Let us serve the Lord with gladness—Together!

Sincerely,

Rev. Jason Tyler, Pastor

"Thank you for supporting us!"

GAP CAMPAIGN FAQ

What is purpose of this campaign?

The purpose of the Gap Campaign is to help bridge the gap between the actual cost of educating our students and the income we receive from tuition. Tuition covers only 65-70% of the total costs at St. Joseph Catholic School. Through the Gap Campaign, families can make a tax-deductible donation and help St. Joseph raise the additional operating funds necessary to meet the needs of our students.

When and how will gifts be used?

The Gap Campaign supports the current fiscal year's operating budget and provides the essentials that make St. Joseph an extraordinary school.  When you give, you can be sure your gift is helping the school right now!

What’s the difference between this and other fundraisers?

The most significant difference is the return for your dollar.  Gap Campaign expenses are minimal (printing costs, postage, and credit card fees), and are fully covered by seed gifts before you receive this mailing.  Because there is such little overhead, no other fundraiser can have as meaningful of an impact on the students as direct giving.

How important is my participation?

Everyone is needed and every gift is important.  The success of St. Joseph School is a testament to the support of every family who walks through our doors.  100% of the faculty and school board have already contributed to the Gap Campaign.  Our goal for school families is also 100% participation.  Support of the parishioners and other friends of St. Joseph is invaluable as well.  Whether you can give $10 or $10,000, your gift will make an impact on the lives of our students.

How can I give?

In whatever way is the most beneficial to you!  The most common way is a check mailed to the school or giving online. However, many people are able to give through donating stock, corporate matching, or other means.  Some families choose to add to their existing tuition draft.  If you would like to give through means not listed on this card, please call the office at 479-442-4554.
